FAQ

General

How do we get paid?

If we are able to settle your case, or get a verdict in court, we receive one-third (1/3) of any recovery, plus any expenses that we have incurred as a result of prosecuting your claim. The bottom line? If we win, we get paid; if we don't, we receive nothing.

Will your firm investigate my claim, without charge, and give me advice as to how I should proceed?

Absolutely. Many times, we literally invest thousands of dollars, only to tell our clients that we do not believe it is in their best interest to pursue the litigation. There is absolutely no charge whatsoever to employ us to investigate your claim and determine whether you should proceed with a lawsuit.

I don't live in Texas. Can you still represent me?

Yes. We have tried and arbitrated lawsuits all across the country. Recently we represented a young girl in a securities matter. She lived in Portland, the broker was from Chicago, we are based in Texas, and the case was mediated in Seattle! It was an outstanding resolution, resulting in several hundred thousand dollars of compensation for a very deserving client.

Can I call and discuss my situation with a real person?

Yes! No computerized menus or buttons to push. When you call you talk to us, and more importantly, we listen. We will advise you free of charge as to what decision is best for you.

Personal Injury

What damages am I entitled to under a personal injury claim?

You are entitled to reimbursement of your medical bills, payment of any medical bills you may incur in the future, any wages you have lost or may lose in the future, any damages to your relationship with your family, and compensation for any disfigurement, such as scarring or burns. You are also entitled to monetary damages for any pain, suffering and mental anguish as a result of injuries caused by another.

Are the monies I receive in a personal injury suit taxable?

This area of the law has changed dramatically over the past few years. The State Bar prohibits attorneys from giving tax advice to their clients; however, prior to any settlement, we will discuss with you your options regarding payment and determine how your money should be paid.
