One of the most popular hair color brands known as Just for Men is currently being sued by over 150 plaintiffs who suffered personal injuries from using the product. All injuries consisted of allergic reactions from the hair dye ingredients.

On April 13th in St. Clair County Court plaintiffs filed suit against Combe Incorporated, Combe Products Inc., Combe Laboratories Inc. and Combe International Ltd. Some of the lawsuits have been transferred to the federal court. The suit alleges that all plaintiffs suffered injuries from using Just for Men hair care products. The complaint states that the defendants knew about the high possibilities of allergic reactions occurring from the ingredients. Unfortunately, the defendants failed to warn customers of the risks. All outlets of marketing such as product description, website content, and informative literature fail to warn users of the risks of allergic reactions.

If you use this product, please be cautious of the way your body reacts to the dye. The plaintiffs expressed symptoms of red rashes, blistering, itching, and chemical burns. One client shared his story to consumer affairs. He stated that he used the Just for Men hair dye specifically for beards and followed the directions listed on the packaging. According to the Consumer Affairs website, he wrote, “I had a burning sensation as well, and after rinsing it off, I thought I was fine. The next day, my face and neck had swollen up horribly. The following morning my skin had begun to weep as well, and I went to the ER. I was admitted immediately, as it looked horrible. They were concerned about my throat swelling shut. I am nearly 50 and do not have any allergies that I know of. Whatever is in this stuff is harsh. I needed steroids and Benadryl” (Consumer Affairs).
